![]() ![]() All in all, I find the app to be well worth the modest subscription fee being charged. You don't need to remember what order to do each step. It then tells you to click on an existing point or click a new point for the perpendicular to run through. Points, circles and lines can be sketched on the screen with. Custom tools allow you to create constructions in the hyperbolic. sketchometry is an interactive construction and exploration tool for plane Euclidean geometry. This sketch from Sketchpad's Samples collection depicts the hyperbolic plane using the Poincar Disk model, in which a line through two points is defined as the Euclidean arc passing through the points and perpendicular to the circle. The program can also be called 'Thai Geometer s Sketchpad', 'The Geometer s Sketchpad'. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. For example, click on perpendicular line and you are told to first click on the line you want the perpendicular to, with all possible candidates highlighted in red. The resulting hyperbolic geometry can be made particularly vivid by Henri Poincaré’s remarkable disk model, which allows that geometry to be visualizedand, in Sketchpad, manipulatedwithin the Euclidean plane. Poincar Disk Model of Hyperbolic Geometry. The Geometer s Sketchpad 5.06 could be downloaded from the developers website when we last checked. When you click on any function, the app provides, in a message bar at the top of the window, the steps to follow to accomplish the construction. This app is very easy to learn, especially if you have experience using other geometry drawing tools if not, it's probably a good idea to watch the training videos the developer has provided (with easy links from the help menu). In many ways, this app is easier to use than Sketchpad was. ![]() So I took a chance on this app and found it to be an excellent substitute. I am a former user of Geometer's Sketchpad which I find is no longer support on the Mac (was never converted to 64bit I think). ![]()
